Bordewijks gebouwen en buurten
F. Bordewijk beschreef straten en huizen alsof het levende wezens zijn. De novelle Huissens (1935) is daarvan een prachtig voorbeeld, maar ook in Rood Paleis en Noorderlicht figureren buurten en bouwsels als bepalers van het lot van de mensen. Bijna nooit positief: man op weg naar bestemming loopt in steeg zijn ondergang tegemoet, dat thema. Maar dan vele malen mooier geschreven.
Soms bestaat zo’n gebouw, in het echt. Op de foto links (Arhus, Denemarken) scheen de zon en dat is helaas, in dit geval. Want het echte Bordewijkgevoel krijg je bij mist of regen. Een beetje zoals rechtsboven (Wenen, Schlingerhof).
Kleurenblind zijn heeft soms ook voordelen.
